Working principle of Y-shaped filter

The Y-shaped filter, as an indispensable device in water, oil, gas pipelines and various equipment, its core function is to remove impurities from the medium. It is installed at the front end of each supporting valve in the inlet pipeline to ensure that impurities are left in the filter barrel, thereby protecting the valves and other equipment from mechanical debris and ensuring their normal operation.

The Y-shaped filter has a Y-shaped design, with one end allowing water and other fluids to pass through and the other end used for settling waste and impurities. It is usually installed at the inlet end of pressure reducing valves, relief valves, constant water level valves, or other equipment to ensure that the water entering the equipment is clean. When water enters the filter body from the inlet, impurities will deposit on the stainless steel filter screen, resulting in a pressure difference. This pressure difference will be monitored by the pressure difference switch, and once it reaches the set value, the electronic controller will send a signal to start the cleaning process. The electric motor drives the brush to rotate, cleans the filter element, and controls the valve to open for drainage. The entire cleaning process only takes a few tens of seconds. After completion, the control valve closes, the motor stops rotating, the system returns to its initial state, and a new round of filtration begins.

After the equipment installation is completed, technicians will debug and set appropriate filtering and cleaning times. In this way, the Y-shaped filter can effectively protect equipment such as hydraulic control valves, pressure reducing valves, pressure relief valves, and constant water level valves, extending their service life.

Precautions for installing Y-shaped filters

When installing a Y-shaped filter, a series of precautions need to be followed to ensure that it can perform at its best and ensure the stable operation of the system. These precautions include:

Confirm installation location: Choosing a suitable installation location is crucial for the performance of the filter. It should be ensured that the filter is installed at the front end of each matching valve in the inlet pipeline to effectively remove impurities from the medium.

Follow the installation sequence: During the installation process, strictly follow the prescribed sequence of operations. Firstly, install the filter body in the designated position, then connect the inlet and outlet, and ensure that all connections are tightly secured.

Debugging and Setting: After installation, debugging and setting work needs to be carried out. Technicians should carefully debug filters, set appropriate filtering and cleaning times to ensure that the system can operate efficiently and protect related equipment.

Following these installation precautions will help ensure the stability and reliability of the Y-shaped filter, providing effective protection for equipment such as hydraulic control valves, pressure reducing valves, relief valves, and constant water level valves.

1. When operating manual valves, it is essential to use an appropriate wrench. Avoid using small wrenches for large valves or using large wrenches for small valves, and strictly prohibit installing force rods on wrenches.

2. When operating a valve, one should stand on the side of the valve handwheel rather than facing the valve stem in the opposite direction to prevent injury caused by medium leakage and spraying from the valve disc root in the pipeline.

3. Before using a wrench to operate a manual door, it is necessary to ensure that the wrench is firmly engaged with the valve handwheel to prevent accidental injury caused by slipping, especially when operating on surfaces that may slip.

4. During the operation, one should skillfully apply arm strength and avoid relying on body weight to prevent the wrench from slipping and causing falls.

5. When operating acid and alkali pipeline valves, if there is a risk of system leakage or direct contact with acid and alkali media, corresponding labor protection equipment must be worn to prevent acid and alkali injuries, and a dedicated person must be assigned to supervise to ensure safety.

6. When operating the soda sampling valve, it must be done by hand and gloves must be worn to prevent burns. If there is a leak, one should wear fire-resistant clothing for operation.

7. The operation of the double door of the boiler water pump also needs to be carried out manually, and ensure that the two handwheels are alternately operated.

8. If you feel significant resistance during the operation, you should first retract one hand before continuing, and repeat this process until the valve is fully opened or closed.
